Monument Coffee Co. is a brand I created for a project to push my abilities as a designer and create an all encompassing brand. From the look to the products and the app I wanted to have full creative control over it.
Fresh off a watch of the Gladiator movies, I had a lot of Greek and Roman imagery on the mind. I wanted the brand to reflect strong flavor and eventually landed on Monument with a focus on pillars to match the architecture displayed in ancient times. These came to life in the coffee cup logo with steam coming out to form Ionic column imagery. I created a variety of lockups with the typeface and an alternate M logo with the Ionic swirls being matched in the corners of the letter form.

The colors I selected for the logo are a variety of blues and gold/browns. These are meant to invoke the strength of the empires in ancient times along with the materials used such as marble, leather and gold. These colors would likely be implemented into the storefront which I created a mockup of as well.

Once I had established the logo, I moved on to create additional assets to to be used throughout the brand. These include graphic elements such as swords, a siphon, a rewards coin, some imagery, catchy wording, and a pattern using the coffee cup icon.

Additionally, I thought this was an excellent opportunity to create some motion graphics for the logo. These are simple logo animations intended to be used for advertising, the app and website.
Once all this was completed, I moved on to start laying out a menu and application for the brand. For the menu I wanted a pretty standard cafe menu featuring drinks with and without coffee and a small bakery menu. However I also wanted to create signature drinks named after the different types of columns used in ancient Greek and Roman times. This led to The Ionic, The Doric and The Corinthian, which each received special column designs to showcase them on the menu.

For the app I wanted to explore some basic UX/UI and mock up a wireframe for the home screen which includes some product and package design mockups for the shop.

Once everything else was done, the final step was to implement all I had into a social media page along with some nice product images using old and new mockups for the grid.
